Martinez Marsh

Again, the darks are wrapped around a light. The palm was very complex, so it was hard for me to make it read well, but the spot was a little unexpected oasis in a large expanse of marsh. Larry suggested I add more dark in the lower left corner which was a good idea.

  1. I love the contrast and complexity in this painting - both in terms of shapes and patterns, and the beautiful and subtle colors you use. Lovely.

  2. I like the wildness of this one. There is an amazing amount of detail but it isn't over worked at all. It feels like an alligator might be lurking behind the tree or in the water.
