Keller Beach in Point Richmond

I really wanted to finish by 1 pm, so I made a decision early on not to "finish" it too much, to use bigger brushes, etc. I did the water last and I mixed in some acrylic medium which helped give it that texture. I was sitting in front the old railroad tracks that lead through the old tunnel, just outside of Miller Knox Park, but facing the small beach closer to the residential area of Point Richmond. It was a holiday but not many people passed through that area. Rebeca

  1. Sorry I missed the group on Monday. I know this area by the tiny beach access (looking toward Western Drive). I like how your buildings are part of the hillside and beach below and all the trees have their own distinguishing characteristics. What kind of medium did you use?

  2. What I love about this is the sense of warm light bouncing off everything and what I now really appreciate about painting outdoors is that sense of being there - time and place, not painted from a photograph but capturing something of that day and the warmth and breeze and the changing color of everything as the day progresses. 3. Your handling of water lately is incredible. This one, the one in Benicia and the ones on you own blog are wonderful. A giant leap forward.
